No area in Sheffield is the same as another. They all have their quirks and reasons to live there. Some people prefer being somewhere quiet, whereas others strive for that city excitement. Some like culture and others are more interested in the nightlife. Below are the some of the most popular student areas to take a closer look at.
Ecclesall Road
This street is full of shops, cafes and restaurants, perfect for those who are social and love the buzz of a busier location. Some of these are independent, and others are well-known chains, giving you a range of options. It’s also super close to the town centre – especially good for people who love a shopping spree or like having transport links. Many students call this popular location ‘Eccy Road’, where they love hanging out at the weekends or after a busy day of lectures. But of course, many people who are studying pick this road for accommodation too. It's useful for those studying at Sheffield Hallam’s Collegiate Campus as it’s not far.
Crookesmoor
If you like being near social places like bars and restaurants, but you also love green spaces, Crookesmoor is the place for you. Parks like the Ponderosa are ideal for a walk or to wind down and read a book. There’s plenty to do around here like visit Weston Park Museum and if you love being next to a supermarket, there are plenty of these too.

The one downfall is that rent prices do tend to be slightly higher here, but for some, paying a little extra is worth it.

For many, the hill is frustrating when you have to tackle a steep climb just to get to your front door. Others, however, appreciate the beautiful view from the hill.
