Student Houses in Brighton

Sat on the south coast of England, Brighton is a tourist destination and is particularly popular amongst younger people. It has an array of entertainment, clubs, shops and plenty more, and as far as student accommodation goes, StuRents has it covered.

University of Brighton

Brighton University educates over 21,000 students on five campuses across the south coast; three are located in Brighton, one in Hastings and one in Eastbourne. All three are in close proximity to both the beach and the countryside. The university is one of the country's largest providers of teacher training and in the most recent Ofsted report, Brighton received an award of 'outstanding' for its Initial Teacher Education provision.

University of Sussex

The University campus has approximately 13,630 students and is located just minutes outside of Brighton city centre with a frequent bus service that goes between the two. Surrounded by the South Downs National Park, the parkland campus boasts beautiful scenery with the vibrant city just a stones throw away. In 2014, the Research Excellence Framework rated 100% of Sussex's departments to having world-leading and internationally excellent research.

City College Brighton and Hove

Centrally located in the heart of Brighton's vibrant North Laine area, City College Brighton and Hove offers high-quality, university-level courses starting each September. Courses blend practical and academic learning, and are designed to help students progress into work or further study. To prepare students for careers in their chosen fields, teaching and learning is professionally-focused, through work placements, access to real employers, entry into national competitions and student-led events and projects.

Falmer

In the north of the city both the University of Brighton Falmer campus and the University of Sussex dominate the Falmer area. Other than the campus the area is also home to a small village and Falmer Stadium. Due to its distance form the city centre and coastline (approximately 8 kilometres) the area is well served by both buses and a train station.

Hove

Whilst Hove was initially separate to Brighton the two towns formed a unitary authority in 1997 and in 2001 were granted city status forming Brighton & Hove. Located on the coast the area is a strong draw for tourists. The area is however somewhat distant from the two main universities in the city.

Moulsecoomb

Home of the Moulsecoomb Campus of the University of Brighton, Moulsecoomb offers a wide variety of cheaper student accommodation alongside some student halls of residence at Moulsecoomb Place. The area is dominated somewhat by the 10-storey high Cockcroft building. The area has strong public transport connections to both the city centre as well as other UoB campuses, including the Falmer campus in the extreme north-east of the city.
