Student Houses in Newcastle

The city's vibrant nightlife, fantastic shopping opportunities and relatively low cost of living have made it an ever popular destination for students, and here at StuRents we help to make sure supply meets demand!

Northumbria University

The largest university in the north-east of England, Northumbria is research-rich, business focused and ranks high in graduate employability. In 2015, their business school was given the prestigious business charter award in recognition of its work supporting student start-ups and small businesses. £160m worth of extensive developments also means it boasts one of the most attractive inner-city campuses in the UK.

University of Newcastle

A redbrick university and member of the Russell Group, Newcastle University attracts over 20,000 students from more than 120 countries. Their 50-acre campus is located right in the city centre, and boasts first-class sports facilities, two farms, an art gallery, an award winning museum, a high-tech marine research lab and a huge student union.

Fenham

Lying to the west of the city, Fenham offers some of the most affordable student housing in Newcastle.

Heaton

Heaton is a residential suburb in the east of Newcastle that has housed students for years. As a result of this there is a large supply of properties in the area, many of them on the cheaper end of the spectrum when compared to other student dense areas like Jesmond and Spital Tongues. Due to its long running ties to universities though, students that live there are well served by public transport to and from campus, as well as to the city centre itself.

Jesmond

Jesmond is a large residential suburb that is home to large amount of Newcastle's students. The area is one of the most affluent suburbs in Newcastle and straddles two electoral wards due to the density of its population. In recent years it has become a real focus for studentification as Newcastle students spill out from university-owned accommodation into wider Newcastle. As a result the area is now home to many bars, restaurants and private student housing developments. The area is amply served by public transport as well, lying as it does on the Tyne and Wear Metro.
