1. Cutlery Works
Based in a converted cutlery factory, hence the name, Cutlery Works is the largest food hall in the North of England. With 14 different vendors, you can experience food and drinks from across the world. Sample excellent quality sushi at Saiko Sushi or enjoy East Asian flavours at Konji. Hot Chick serves up delicious wings or you can head to Little Dough for the perfect wood-fired pizza. With so many options, you won’t be short of choice. Plus, Cutlery Works was voted the best food hall in the UK in both 2022 and 2023 - so its definitely worth a visit!
2. No Name
While it might be tucked away in Crookes and humbly named, this small bistro is not one to miss. No Name has an exciting changing menu which uses seasonal ingredients and locally sourced produce and no matter what’s on offer, the flavours always pack a punch. Bear in mind that No Name is bring your own booze (BYOB) so you can save all your money to spend on their delicious dishes.
3. Copper Pot
If you’re a breakfast food fan, Copper Pot is not one to miss. The food here is great value for money. You can enjoy a Full English for less than £13! With plenty of veggie and vegan options available, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. They also serve 2 for £12 cocktails if you fancy heading over later in the day.
4. Slap & Pickle at Saw Grinders Union
Head to Saw Grinders Union to enjoy succulent smash burgers from Slap & Pickle. These indulgent burgers are made from 40-day, dry-aged Swaledale beef, unless, of course, you’d prefer to tuck into the extensive vegan and vegetarian menu! If burgers aren’t your thing, there are wings, strips and loaded fries available too. You can even enjoy Slap & Pickle food as part of a bottomless brunch between Wednesday and Sunday.
5. Piña
Piña was born out of the owner and founder, Joe’s, trip to Mexico in 2016. He was inspired by the delicious food he experienced and came back determined to bring the authentic flavours of Mexico back to Sheffield. You can now enjoy some of the best tacos and margaritas in Piña’s lively atmosphere. The former warehouse it’s been converted into a colourful space packed with street art and good ambience. It’s even dog friendly so be sure to bring your furry friends along!
6. Joro
Joro, meaning Earth in Old Norse, offers an elevated British dining experience. The restaurant has only eight tables in an informal, open-plan dining room that aims to create an ‘immersed’ experience. They have a signature tasting menu and an express lunch menu but whenever you plan to visit, be sure to book ahead to secure your space. While Joro might be a tad on the pricier side, it’s definitely a dining experience to look forward to.
7. Bench
Located in Nether Edge, Bench thinks of itself as a neighbourhood bistro and bar. It serves up delicious small plates and natural wine pairings. It is the only restaurant to have been ranked in the top 50 cocktail bars in the UK, so you’ll be sure to get a tasty drink as well as mouth-watering food.
8. Domo
With a name that literally means ‘home’, Domo is family-run restaurant serving up food and drink inspired by their home town of Castelsardo. The menu is packed with hearty Sardinian soul food cooked with fresh produce from local independent Sheffield retailers and specialities direct from Sardinia itself.
9. Napoli Centro
Napoli Centro pride themselves on being uncomplicated and producing memorable, authentic food. They specialise in Neapolitan pizza but also offer a range of Neapolitan street food classics, Italian craft beers, small producer wines, and classic cocktails. This little restaurant is perfect if you want brilliant food on a budget, as pizza starts at as little as £8.
10. Tamper
Tamper is inspired by Kiwi cafe culture, with a laid back atmosphere and simple yet impactful brunch dishes. While they have an all-day menu too, it’s worth getting up early to catch their breakfast before 12pm. The Big Kiwi is the perfect start to the day (or you can get the Big Ozzy if you’re a non-meat eater).
