The first rent payment needs to be paid before you move into your property.

A deposit is usually the value of one month's rent.
If you prefer to provide a guarantor, this must be a UK property owner.
Important information for student tenancies:
You would be required to sign up for a 12 or 24 month tenancy. Before moving into a property you would need to pay a deposit to the value of 5 weeks rent (£865.38), this is refundable at the end of the tenancy minus any arrears or damages. If you receive student finance in 3 payments then rent will be payable 3 terms a year, when finance payments are received. Each payment would be £3000.00. If you do not receive student finance in 3 payments then rent would be payable in line with your student finance/alternative income schedule.
The rent does not include any utilities or council tax. You would be exempt from Council Tax if you are students, but it would be your responsibility to apply for an exemption.
In order to rent a property, you would need to provide ID, previous landlord contact information if you have rented in the UK before, and proof of your income/student finance award.
