Hall Rooms
Student bedrooms are located throughout the main Hamstead Hall building. Each room comes equipped with a desk, chair, wardrobe, set of drawers, bookshelf, single bed, mattress cover and a bin. All rooms also benefit from an up to 100 Mb WiFi internet connection.
Hall Bathrooms
A number of bathrooms are located on each floor in the main hall. You are free to use any of the bathrooms on your floor. All bathrooms are fitted with showers. Bathrooms are cleaned everyday Monday to Friday by our team of onsite cleaners. Please note that some areas of the Hall are mixed sex and others are single sex only for female and male students.
Hall Kitchens
Kitchens in Hamstead Hall are shared between 5 - 10 students. Each person sharing a kitchen will have their own space in cupboards, fridges and freezers. All kitchens are equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, iron, ironing board, hoover and dining area. Kitchens are cleaned daily by our team of onsite cleaners, dishes, however, are your own responsibility!
Hamstead Campus is located in the Handsworth Wood area of Birmingham just 3 miles from the city centre. Within a 5 minute walk along College Road you'll find a Tesco Express, a local Co op foodstore and a range of local shops including a post office. Also nearby are a leisure centre and Handsworth Park which is around 60 acres with a lake, cricket pitch and a second, larger leisure centre with swimming pool. The city centre is easily accessible by bus.
Hamstead Campus is well served by public transport. There are four bus routes which pass by the campus heading to a variety of destinations including: Birmingham city centre (for BCU's City Centre Campus; Millenium Point; UCB; University of Law, Ulster University's Birmingham Campus); BCU's City North Campus at Perry Barr and the One Stop shopping centre; Harborne and Selly Oak (for University of Birmingham). The local train station is 1 mile from the campus and has direct links to Birmingham New Street train station, Wolverhampton and Walsall. The train also provides great links to Birmingham International Airport with low fares.
