"It's a well-situated place between Kent uni and the city centre. Everything is in a walkable distance. I've spent two lockdown periods in the flat. It was very nice to have nearby areas we could walk to maintain our mental health.
Very helpful and caring landlords - they were always up to help with the flat and general "life in the UK" questions. A very positive experience for international students!" Yannis, Kent student, tenant, twenty-twenty to twenty-two.
"First of all, location. It is located between Uni and city centre so I can go either easily on foot or by bus. And it is close to the bus stop and canterbury west station as well! Quiet and safe neighbourhood should be pointed out too!
Second of all, value for money. It is hard to find this kind of flat in this price! Compared to uni accom, I saved almost half of my budget." Minju, Kent student, tenant, twenty-twenty-one to twenty-two.
"Whitehall is a wonderful and cosy place, very well situated. Cathy has been a great landlady, very responsive to our requests and concerns. It has been an absolute pleasure staying there.", Michaela, Kent student, tenant, twenty-twenty to twenty-one.
"I stayed at Whitehall Close between 2020 and 2021 (during lockdown), and it was a great experience. Firstly, it’s very convenient. It’s just outside of the city centre, very close to both train stations and Westgate gardens, and many nice walking/biking/running foot paths. It’s also close to the bus stops for the Uni buses. Secondly, what I especially liked about staying at Whitehall Close was that the landlord/lady is very prompt in response and they deal with issues almost immediately. So you won’t need to worry about them not responding or having issues not solved. They are also very understanding and helpful. Lastly, the house is already equipped with many things. It is furnished as advertised, but it also has the cutleries, pans and pots, bowls and dishes, etc., so if you are just moving into Canterbury, you won’t need to worry about buying everything!", Jane, Kent student, tenant, twenty-twenty to twenty-one.
"Our experience at the house is great. It’s a really cozy space and we feel right at home!", Eva, Kent student tenant, twenty-ninteen to twenty-twenty.
"Fab location, great view of the city and good size rooms for reasonable rent.", Esther, Kent student tenant, twenty-eighteen to twenty-nineteen.
"Whitehall Close is an awesome place to stay. It is located close to town and the Westgate Garden, so it is convenient to do your grocery shopping or enjoy an evening walk. The bus stop is just a few minutes walk and Canterbury West is probably just another 10 minutes walk. The flat also offers an amazing view of the cathedral and Canterbury town. It is very spacious with a lot of natural light in the flat. Cathy is the best landlady I have met as she is very helpful, easy going, and responds quickly to any queries and problems we had. The neighbours are really nice and friendly as well, so it certainly felt like home staying in Whitehall Close", Yan, Kent student tenant, twenty-seventeen to twenty-eighteen.
"This is my first time living off campus and renting a house with my friends. The house is loving and feels at home. Also, Cathy and Rob are very friendly and helpful with everything and when we needed help. I had a fantastic experience with them, and if we could stay longer, I would choose to stay with them with no doubts", Sew, Kent student tenant, twenty-seventeen to twenty-eighteen.
"Our best ever experience of renting", Louise, Kent student tenant, twenty-sixteen to twenty-seventeen.
"I loved the flat so much. It's great to have so much space", Alena, Kent student tenant, twenty-sixteen to twenty-seventeen.
"The flat is ideally located and very close to town. It is very spacious and bright, with a lot of storage space. I particularly liked being able to look out over Canterbury and the Cathedral every morning from the landing!" Chris, Christ Church tenant, twenty-twelve to twenty-sixteen.
"Whitehall Close is very convenient for being able to get to the University of Kent and the city centre. With a bus stop so near by, it made travelling around Kent very easy. The added bonus of only a 10 minute walk to Canterbury West Train Station meant that commuting to and from London was a breeze!" Jemima, Kent Uni tenant, twenty-fifteen to twenty-sixteen.
