Harrogate-based developer, Moda Living Limited, has announced their intention to venture into the student accommodation sector and aims to deliver 10,000 PBSA units over the next five years.

The developers have already secured sites for schemes in Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester, with around 4,000 student beds planned initially.

Johnny Caddick, co-founder and CEO of Moda Living, stated: "Like the mainstream housing market, UK student accommodation is crying out for quality new homes to address the shortage, and we're very confident that demand for sustainable, community-focused homes will ensure the success of this new addition to Moda's portfolio of rental platforms."

The student homes will comprise both cluster flats with shared kitchen spaces as well as private studios.

It will form part of Moda Living's UK pipeline of 24,000 rental properties, including build-to-rent, single-family rental, and co-living units. This pipeline is valued at a total of £6.8 billion.

Moda has highlighted that its student platform will prioritise well-being and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations. Amenities will include event spaces, wellness zones, green spaces, private dining areas, shared study spaces, roof terraces, and fitness suites.
