Scape and APG are moving forward with plans to increase their exposure to purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA).

Scape recently revealed the acquisition of a 32-storey student scheme in Leeds and has its sights set on Manchester, Oxford, Cambridge, Brighton, and Bristol.

The departure from London represents its first move into regional cities, as the company expects an increasing number of students will look to study outside the capital. Whilst the business is a big believer in London, they expect fewer people will move down to the city as the government looks to adjust the balance between the north and south of the country.

Alongside additional PBSA, the JV between the two will also focus on the private rented sector with the delivery of a Built to Rent portfolio. The first Scape Living scheme is due to open in Guildford in the coming weeks.
